Oklahoma Elections Board Announces Results of Random Sample Procedure for Order of Parties on Ballot

On August 1, the Oklahoma Elections Board issued a press release to reveal the results of the random procedure used to determine order of candidates on the November 2022 ballot. The Libertarian Party nominees for all partisan offices will have the top line, followed by the Republicans and then the Democrats. Thanks to Chris Powell for this news.

UPDATE: here is a link to a you tube of the drawing.

  1. Top Line for the LP in Oklahoma? In the words of Dick Vitale, “AWESOME BAY-BEE”!

  2. Congratulations to the Libertarian Party for its top placement on the ballot and to the State of Oklahoma for a fair, open and clear determination of the the ballot party placement.

  3. This is wrong and disgusting. The vast majority of the people in Oklahoma, like in most states, are strong Trump Republicans. The Republican Party should always have the top line in all elections. Ultimately, only Republican votes should be counted, and the voting should be public like in a caucus so that people who don’t vote Republican can be identified, humiliated and punished. But in the meantime, let’s at least reflect the will of the people by always listing the GOP first, just as we need policies to Make America First Again (and Great Again!)

  4. Mac, despite your obvious troll status you may be interested to know that the reason we have the drawing for party order. Until 1994 state law dictated that the Democrats be listed first, but that was challenged by a Republican state legislator named Bill Graves. He won the lawsuit overturning that law and the drawing was the solution created to replace it. Since that time the Reform Party has gotten the top spot once(out of three appearances), the Libertarian Party has now won it twice(out of six appearances), the Democrats four times, and the GOP seven times.
In primaries and non-partisan races the ballot positions are rotated. My understanding is that party order is necessary for general elections in order to accommodate straight-party voting and if we were to do away with that then ballot positions could be rotated in general elections as well.

  5. Chris Powell, my troll status is entirely in your head. I believe exactly what I have said and will continue to say here. I view politics as total war, and total resistance to the evil, satanic left by any and all means as long overdue. I believe we are living in the days foretold in the Book of Revelation and my intent is to send as many leftists to hell, as soon and as painfully as possible, as God will allow me to do, and to make their time on this planet as unpleasant as possible in the meantime.

I said what I meant and I meant what I said. Nothing you said has changed my mind, either. I don’t believe you all need ballot rotation, or that any other state needs it either. I believe you should restore the old law which mandated a particular party always be listed first, except that this time it should be the Republican Party. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY SHOULD ALWAYS BE LISTED FIRST EVERYWHERE. Is that hard to understand? Yes, I am a partisan. I don’t believe in “fair play” or “free elections,” I believe politics is war without rules and only victory matters, at any cost.

As a corollary to that last part, I also meant what I said about moving to a caucus style system for general elections. Everyone gathers in a big room with their neighbors and stands in the corner representing their party in full view of everyone else, and some people make speeches to convince people to join their corner. You may have to spend a few hours standing up for your party, but you won’t stand them in line waiting to vote. And yes, I do realize that people who don’t stand up for the GOP could be punished, humiliated, hurt, targeted, or whatever bad things you might imagine could happen to them. As I said, that is exactly why I am in favor of this voting system. I want the enemies of God to be punished, humiliated, hurt, and sent to hell. What part of that is hard to understand?

  6. Mr. Winger,

What about Matthew 7:12? I do unto others exactly as I would have them do unto me, or try to as best my human weakness allows me to. We all fight demons within, and I am no exception. But if I was on the side of evil by voting for leftists, I wish someone would use whatever means necessary to shock me over to the righteous right wing side, or else kill me or do whatever else was needed to prevent my vote from tipping the balance of power to the total victory of evil in the world. The political struggle between left and right is not a mere proxy war; it is, in fact, the direct fight between the total victory of God or the total victory of Satan, and we are indeed living in the last days. This means that employing extraordinary means to prevent total defeat and ensure total victory is more important now than it ever was in the entire history of the world.
